Abstrak

This study aims to obtain endophyte fungus isolates originating from the sembung (Blumea balsamifera) plant and to determine its potential as an antimicrobial against the growth of Candida albicans, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus. The sembung plant samples (B. balsamifera) were taken from Pangkalan Baru Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency. The endophyte fungi were isolated using the surface sterilization method, while the antimicrobial activity test used the disc method. A total of 15 endophyte fungi isolates were isolated from the sembung (B. balsamifera) plant. The antimicrobial activity test result showed that 1 isolate was able to inhibit C. albicans, 15 isolates could inhibit of E. coli and S. aureus growth.
