Abstrak

Hansen-Patrick’s Method is one of iteration method with third order convergence used to solve the nonlinear equation. In here, the author modified Hansen-Patrick’s Method by reducing the second derivative using quartic equation to obtain a higher convergence order. Based on the result of the research, a new iteration equation with fourth-order convergence was obtained by involving three functions evaluation and the efficiency index of 1,587401. Numeric simulation were held on several functions to find out the advantages of new iteration method with Newton’s Method, Chebyshev’s Method, Halley’s Method, and Potra-Ptak’s Method. The result Numerical simulation prove that the accuracy of new iterative method is better than the other method.
