AKTIVITAS BAKTERI SELULOLITIK DARI Actynomycetes YANG DIISOLASI DARI LIMBAH PELEPAH KELAPA SAWIT
Abstract
Cellulolytic bacteria are bacteria that can break down cellulose into simpler polysaccharides, namely cellodextrin or glucose units. Glucose is used by bacteria as a source of carbon for its growth needs. Cellulose can be degraded by specific organisms including bacteria, fungi, actinomycetes and low animals (insects). This study aims to examine the antibacterial activity of Actinomycetes in degrading cellulose. This research was carried out in 2 stages, namely, Isolation of bacteria using the Pour Plate method which was made with serial dilution and antibacterial activity test with agar diffusion. The formation of clear zones around paper discs shows that actynomycetes can degrade cellulose.
