Abstract

An optical system prototype has been designed which functions to identify mixed fertilizer. This system uses the Laser Speckle Imaging (LSI) method which includes hardware and software design. The hardware in this system is made of black acrylic box with a thickness of 2 mm, has dimensions of 50 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm which serves as a place to irradiate fertilizer samples, the LSI system consists of a laser as a light source and the camera as a light scattering sensor. The design of the software used is the 2015 series Matlab software. The 2015a Matlab software will process the scattering captured by the camera and calculate the contrast value. This method produces speckle contrast value data from the adulterated fertilizer samples tested. The test results obtained indicate the range of contrast fertilizer speckle values worth 0.160 to 0.650 with an average contrast value of 0.40486
