ANALISIS PERAN PENYULUHAN PADA PETANI KELAPA SWADAYA DI KABUPATEN INDRAGIRI HILIR PROVINSI RIAU

Abstract

Extension has an important role as a learning process for farmers to increase productivity, business efficiency, income, well-being and raise awareness in environment conservation. This study aims to describe the implementation of extension and examines the role of counseling for coconut farmers in Indragiri Hilir Riau Province. This research is a survey. Samples were selected from four villages, Bente and Igal village in District of Mandah, Simpang Tiga and Sungai Lokan village in District of Enok. Samples were selected by purposive sampling, to obtain 120 samples. Implementation of the extension described in terms of the elements of extension. Implementation of the extension can be said to be less going well due to the limited number of extension workers. District of Enok only has 7 extension workers in the district with an average target area in District 3 villages and there were only 2 people Mandah extension workers responsible for 7 village. It is difficult to conduct information corresponding extension programming coupled with limited supporting infrastructure of counseling. The role of extension from the aspect of education, dissemination of innovation, facilitation, consultation, supervision and evaluation and monitoring. Based on the results of the Likert scale was found that extension for coconut farmers from the aspects of education, dissemination of innovation, facilitation, consultation, supervision, evaluation and monitoring on quite category.
