Following with the attachment of Government Regulation Number 33 of 2012 concerning Exclusive Breastfeeding, the best feeding pattern is for newborns up to the age of 2 years. The aim of this study was to obtain information about "social support" on exclusive breastfeeding amongst breastfeeding mothers at Umban Sari Health Center of Pekanbaru. Qualitative research was performed to assess and measure in-depth information from informants whether assistance or provision from the surrounding environment could lead to the success of exclusive breastfeeding. The selection of informants was done by purposive sampling, a total of 15 participants. The instruments used are interview and observation sheets. This research was conducted from March 2021 to November 2021, at the Umban Sari Health Center and the Pekanbaru City Health Office. Results showed that The Riau provincial government and Pekanbaru City have provided support to increase the success of exclusive breastfeeding, through regulations (Riau Governor Regulation No.109 and Pekanbaru deputy mayor regulation No.48 of 2015), and programs entrusted to the Pekanbaru City Health Office but the implementation is still not running optimally, it can be seen that the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is still low. Support from health workers has an important role in instilling motivation for breastfeeding behavior in mothers. ER -
