DAMPAK MIKROPLASTIK TERHADAP MAKROZOOBENTOS; SUATU ANCAMAN BAGI BIOTA DI SUNGAI SIAK, PEKANBARU

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the microplastic abundance and the impact of microplastic on the abundance of macrozoobenthos in the Siak River, Pekanbaru. The work procedure starts from the survey of research locations, taking macrozoobenthos, taking sediments and identifying macrozoobenthos and microplastics. The study was conducted at 3 stations, macrozoobenthos sampling using surber net and sediment taken with 4 inch paralon to a depth of 10 cm. Identification of macrozoobenthos was carried out to the level of the family and microplastic separation by separation methods and visual identification of microplastics with the help of an Olympus CX-23 microscope. The average total abundance of microplastics found was 8,955.6 particles / m3 and the average total abundance of macrozoobenthos found was 1,422.2 individuals/m2. The correlation between microplastic abundance and macrozoobenthos abundance was positively correlated with correlation value (r) = 0.751 and significant 0.459.
