PEER REVIEW PROCESS
All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Islamika undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, relevance, and academic contribution of each published article.
1. Initial Editorial Screening
The Editor-in-Chief conducts an initial assessment to determine:
- The suitability of the manuscript with the focus and scope of Jurnal Islamika.
- Compliance with the journal's manuscript template and author guidelines.
- The completeness and basic academic quality of the submitted manuscript.
- The assignment of an Article Editor based on the subject area of the manuscript.
2. Article Editor Assessment
The Article Editor conducts an editorial assessment and:
- Selects reviewers whose expertise is relevant to the subject of the manuscript.
- Sends the manuscript to qualified reviewers using an anonymous peer-review process.
- Ensures that the review process is conducted objectively and independently.
3. Peer Review
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the journal's review criteria, including:
- Originality and novelty of the research.
- Relevance and clarity of the research problem.
- Appropriateness of the methodology.
- Quality of data analysis and interpretation.
- Consistency between research objectives, findings, discussion, and conclusions.
- Contribution to the development of knowledge.
- Quality and relevance of references.
- Ethical aspects of the research and publication.
Reviewers provide recommendations regarding the manuscript, including acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.
4. Editorial Decision
The Editor-in-Chief, taking into consideration the reviewers' recommendations and the editorial assessment, makes the final decision regarding the publication of the manuscript.
If revisions are required, the manuscript is returned to the author for revision and may be sent back to reviewers for further evaluation.
5. Plagiarism and Publication Ethics Check
Before publication, accepted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening and an editorial check to ensure compliance with the journal's publication ethics and academic integrity standards.
6. Final Decision and Publication
Following completion of the review, revision, and editorial processes, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision. Accepted manuscripts are subsequently prepared and published according to the journal's publication schedule.
