According to many studies, high ART adherence is correlated with better physical, psychological, and social quality of life. Many factors can affect adherence, including therapy regimen, drug side effects, patient mental condition, and economic and social issues. This study was conducted based on six studies published in scientific journals to evaluate the relationship between HIV patients' quality of life and their adherence to antiretroviral drugs. This review used publications from the last ten years collected from the Publish or Perish and PubMed databases using the keywords adherence, antiretroviral, quality of life, and HIV. Articles that discussed the relationship between ART adherence and HIV patients' quality of life used quantitative or qualitative methods with valid measurement tools. The results showed that patients with an adherence rate of at least 90% had better viral suppression and better quality of life. The main factors that increased adherence were simpler ART regimens, milder side effects, support from health workers, and patient education. ART side effects, mental health problems (such as depression and anxiety), economic issues, and access are issues that hinder adherence
Pretty Farida Panjaitan, Seftika Sari, Neni Frimayanti Copyright (c) 2025 The Journal Of Pharmacy https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://ejurnal.umri.ac.id/index.php/JFMu/article/view/9044 Mon, 30 Jun 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Tingkat Pengetahuan Dan Kepatuhan Penggunaan Antibiotik Pada Masyarakat Di Kelurahan Limbungan Kecamatan Rumbai Timur Kota Pekanbaru https://ejurnal.umri.ac.id/index.php/JFMu/article/view/9426
Dilla Wahyuni, Seftika Sari, Neni Frimayanti Copyright (c) 2025 The Journal Of Pharmacy https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://ejurnal.umri.ac.id/index.php/JFMu/article/view/9035 Mon, 30 Jun 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Analisis Prediksi Potensi Farmakokinetik Dan Toksisitas Pada Senyawa Kurkumin Dari Extrak Curcuma Aromatica Secara In Silico https://ejurnal.umri.ac.id/index.php/JFMu/article/view/10070
Curcuma aromatica Salisb., commonly known as wild turmeric, is a species from the Zingiberaceae family rich in curcuminoid compounds. Curcumin, its main active compound, possesses various therapeutic potentials, including anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties, as well as roles in the treatment of cancer and HIV. This study aimed to predict the ADMET profile of curcumin extracted from C. aromatica Salisb. using in silico methods. The prediction results indicate that curcumin exhibits good intestinal absorption and does not show mutagenic, hepatotoxic, skin irritant, or systemic toxic properties at reasonable doses. Furthermore, curcumin does not interact dangerously with the CYP2D6 enzyme. Overall, the ADMET profile suggests that curcumin is relatively safe for use as a drug active ingredient. Despite its safety, this study also identified a major challenge related to curcumin's low bioavailability, which is caused by its poor water solubility and limited distribution. This low distribution can restrict its therapeutic effectiveness in target tissues. This challenge poses a risk of accumulation if high doses are administered continuously. Therefore, special formulations, such as nanoparticles, are highly necessary to enhance the solubility, distribution, and therapeutic efficacy of curcumin in the future.
Anjas Wilapangga, Muhammad Arif Copyright (c) 2025 The Journal Of Pharmacy https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://ejurnal.umri.ac.id/index.php/JFMu/article/view/10070 Mon, 30 Jun 2025 00:00:00 +0700
