HUBUNGAN HYGIENITAS VAGINA DENGAN KEJADIAN CANDIDIASIS VAGINALIS PADA REMAJA DI PUSKESMAS TANJUNG SENGKUANG KOTA BATAM TAHUN 2018

Abstract

Candidiasis vaginalis is reproductive health’s problem that often occurs in adolescents, which is inflammation of the vagina due to excessive growth of the fungus Candida albicans which is the main cause of vaginal discharge. This study aims to determine the relationship of vaginal hygienity to the incidence of vaginal candidiasis at adolescents at Tanjung Sengkuang’s Public Health Center Batam City 2018. The used method in this study is Cross Sectional design, sample used all adolescents who came to Public health center complaints of Leucorrhoea, amounting to 42 respondents. Data collection in this study use form of a questionnaire. The analysis in this study is univariate and bivariate analysis. The results showed a relationship between vaginal hygienic variables (p value = 0.010) with the incidence of vaginal candidiasis. Women, especially adolescents, should keep and pay attention to vaginal hygienic behavior, this is intended to avoid the risk of pathological vaginal discharge resulting in various other complications related to the reproductive system.
